MEtaverse Futures: Education beyond Realms
Youth work moves into immersive space
Young people already spend part of their lives inside immersive digital worlds. Most youth workers were never trained for those spaces. MEFER closes that gap.
Erasmus+ KA220-YOU2024-2-NO02-KA220-YOU-000285372
Six organisations, one training route
MEFER is an Erasmus+ cooperation partnership in the youth field, coordinated by FURIM Institutt in Oslo and running from January 2025 to December 2026. Four youth organisations, one technology company and one research university each built a piece of it.
The result is a curriculum for youth workers and a 3D learning platform that delivers it. Both are free to use, and both stay online after the funding ends.
Six organisations, six countries, six modules, twenty-four months.
Four results, all public
Each one is described in full on the results page.
Comprehensive needs assessment report
What youth workers across six countries said they were missing, and the curriculum blueprint built from it.
Immersive technologies curriculum
Six modules for youth workers, one written by each partner and all reviewed by METU.
3D virtual learning and development platform
A browser-based environment with an entry desk and four areas. No headset, no download.
Interactive educational materials
Branching scenarios from real youth work, resource packs, self-assessments, podcasts and newsletters.
